With the release of the 1.3 Software Update for the MediaSmart Server[1] , HP have included PVConnect (formerly TwonkyVision). This software listens on TCP port 9000 which conflicts with SqueezeCenter[2].
To change the port that PVConnect listens on, you need to edit the twonkyvision-mediaserver.ini file on the server as follows: -
- Remote Desktop to your server
- Open c:\twonkymedia\twonkyvision-mediaserver.ini
- Find the section
# HTTP server port
httpport=
and add the port you wish to use (i.e. 9090)
# HTTP server port
httpport=9090
- Save the file
- Restart the PVConnect Service by opening http://hpserver:9000/rpc/restart in your Browser (either client or server)
NB:You must add this new port to your firewall exceptions and also add the new port to your router.
