Customizing the Remote Access Pages

When you access your server over the internet, the first screen you are presented with a picture of someone else’s family. Modifying these images is fairly straightforward and can be achieved with either a simple cut and paste job from paint, or by installing the WHS Customizer Add-In.

Remote Access Home Page

  1. Using mstsc.exe, start a Remote Desktop Connection session to your home server.
  2. Click Start, click Run, type c:\inetpub\home\images, and then press ENTER.
  3. Open i_landingpage_main.png with Microsoft Paint.
  4. Change the image.
  5. Save the file, and then close Paint.

Remote Access

  1. Using mstsc.exe, start a Remote Desktop Connection session to your home server.

  3. Open i_default_photo.png with Microsoft Paint.
  4. Change the image.
  5. Save the file, and then close Paint.
