Now that PP1 is officially launched, and HP has stated they would release at the same time, who's seen the 1.3 release?

Update: Got official word from HP.
Quote:
Corresponding with Microsoft’s Power Pack 1 release, HP has released a software update for the HP MediaSmart Server. This update delivers enhanced media streaming capability from PacketVideo, server-side anti-virus protection from McAfee and prepares the HP MediaSmart Server for compatibility with 64-bit operating systems.

The software update is available now via an automatic update, or users can select “Check for Updates” in the Windows Home Server console. Please let us know if you have any questions.

So how did you guys get the update?? In the Windows Home Server Console?

And what about those risky people that downloaded 1.3 from the FTP site ( not that I did but just looking out for the people that take risks for the better of the community )...Do we, I mean do they have a means of uninstalling and then updating to 1.3?

Ok, I'm still waiting on Official HP confirmation, but this is what my experimentation has lead me to find:

1. Download the new 1.3 update from here:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software10 ... v-60259-3/

2. Uninstall any PacketVideo or McAfee add-ins from the old 1.3 release.

3. Uninstall old 1.3 update from Add/Remove programs on the server via RDP

4. Install newly downloaded 1.3 update.

Note: If you were running 1.3 (pre-release) with the McAfee Add-In installed, you'll also need to remove the McAfee folder from the c:\program files folder before you install 1.3 again. If you don't, McAfee won't install correctly, and you get some weird results. (Thanks Cougar!)

Or, perform Server Recovery, those are your choices.

Let us know how it goes!
Alex

Just an update to Yakuza's post, if you were running 1.3 (pre-release) with the McAfee Add-In installed, you'll also need to remove the McAfee folder from the c:\program files folder before you install 1.3 again.

If you don't, McAfee won't install correctly, and you get some weird results.

edit: also don't forget to remove the 1.3 addins before you uninstall. Thats McAfee and PVConnect

Worked great for me, I was a little leary since I have my server tweaked up with multiple websites using IIS and Host header stuff, wordpress, MYSQL and PHP and so far so good, the HP Update installed without a hitch and will report more once I get PP1 installed....crossing my fingers that all goes well!

Can anyone share the "MS13621622ServerUpdate.exe" file? The download site isn't working for me. I can see the file up there, but it won't donwload using my FTP client. And, of course, my HP AutoUpdater doesn't work. Never has, and probably never will.

Thanks!

Okay so do I install 1.3 and then PP1? Or the other way around?

Either. I did PP1 first, then the HP update but that was just my own choice.
