Hi. I recently acquired an EX470 and did a factory restore and it then went through a long round of automatic software upgrades to bring itself up-to-date. I now have it running to backup a couple of Windows 10 PCs and am thinking of using it as a media server. This is where I am stuck. Looking around this forum and the Wiki I see references to, and screenshots of, the Media Collector and advice on accessing it via a tab in the Server Settings page of the Windows Home Server Console.
When I look at my Windows Home Server Settings page, there is no Media Collector tab. I see Windows Media Center, Media Sharing, PV Connect (which I installed as an add-in) and Settings for iTunes but none of these seem to relate to collecting media files from other sources. I have looked around the forum but I am getting confused over whether the advice offered is relevant to me or if I am missing some software. I see references to WHS v1 and v3 and WHS 2011. On the Resources tab of the Windows Home Server Settings page it says I am running Windows Home Server with Power Pack 3 (no version number mentioned). In the Version Information list it shows (amongst others) Windows Home Server Console v6.0.2423.0,
With this version of the WHS software should I be seeing a Media Collector tab? If not, how do I get media files on to the media server?
Sorry if this is a stupid question - but I'm stuck for ideas on how to proceed.
