Anyone parted out a EX490 / EX495 ? I need a motherboard for a spare EX490 I have. It seems dead now. Just the power light comes on.

Post or PM me if you have one to sell.

Did you check the RAM and CPU? It's possible either of those could be bad. How about the debug cable? That way you could hook up a monitor and see if the system attempts to POST.

I had a CPU I suspected was bad when a Dell desktop it was in died unexpectedly. I popped it in my EX490 and fired it up...and got nothing more than the power light and fans. If memory serves me right, the disks didn't even spin up, indicating the server never started POSTing and therefore never initialized the I/O controller.

Needless to say I popped my E5300 back in and life was good.

Definitely check the CPU/RAM first, and rule those out. I'd hate to see you spend a bunch of money to replace a mobo that could potentially be good.

Thank you so much for taking the time to check on me! That's what is so great about these forums!
Without being too verbose, as this is not the correct place, I did try what you suggested. Have the debug cable, etc, and also tried another power supply (have a spare). Just the power light comes on nothing else.

Still looking for a Motherboard. No other choice.

Thanks again for your time and concern.
