Hi All -
First time poster here so bare with me! I have an EX485 (SP2 but without PP3) w/ 4 Samsung 2TB drives. I can access all of my data via mapped drives (data, videos, music, etc.) on my client PCs (all win 7 64 bit). About a week ago, I tried to log into the Console and it was verrry slow (up to 30 minutes and longer to get a full window). I looked at the Task Manager and have about 10 things running - all at 00 but my performance CPU graph is at 100%! I did see in the bottom right corner of the console that the database was being updated but in three hours it only got to 52%. When I did get a full console window, I checked my backups and they stopped on 3/10/12 and have not started since. Also at the bottom of the console window, it states that the storage was last balanced on 3/3/12. RDP works fine also. Can anyone give me a hint on what to do to get this console more responsive and get my backups working again? I would prefer to do a Server Recovery as a last ditch thing.

Thanks all

Paul

P.S. to Alex - I live in Denver so I could bring my EX up to you to look at if you want!! :D

Sorry but I don't provide personal support. Make sure the "Show processes from all users" checkbox is checked in Task Manager, and that you've sorted the list by CPU.

Thanks Alex. I overlooked that. Sure enough, it's Twonky. Read the posts about it and I have disabled it for now until I can use your troubleshooting guide to fix it. On a separate note, has there ever been a definitive guide to getting PP3 installed? I've tried the uninstall of Search 4 but it didn't work. Would love to have the win7 features.

Thanks.

Paul

Power Pack 3 was an automatic update and you most likely have it, check your version against the Wiki here. http://www.mediasmartserver.net/wiki/in ... _Server%3F

Thanks for the link Alex but my versions are 6.0.2030.2, .0, .0, .0, and .13. When I try to do a manual update within the console "Settings", I get "The following updates were not installed: Windows Home Server Power Pack 3 (KB968349)".
I've looked over similiar posts that mention the problem with Search 4.0 but removing that didn't matter. The only "solution" I found was when the person did a Server Restore and then installed PP3. I was hoping to bypass the Restore if possible if someone knew of another way.

Thanks.
Paul
