I've tried adding this item to my cart several times in the last week and when I get to checkout it says the item is no longer available. I ended up buying the $110 EARX drive, and they would only let me buy one.

It seems to vary by location, some stores around me show it as in stock.

That makes sense, all stores in my area show out of stock, and the ship to store option comes back as no longer available.

Woot's had a Woot-off going all day. I've picked off a couple of refurbished HDDs this way, and I've never had any trouble from refurbs...the two I have are going on 4 years old and neither show any trouble.

I was hoping they'd have some 1 or 2 TB refurbs. Woot-offs are almost always good for at least one hard drive, but I guess the flooding has cut into this supply as well. I suppose folks who might ordinarily avoid refurbs are snapping them up as supplies of new drives dwindle, particularly if they're partial to a specific vendor (i.e. WD). Too bad the Wootalyzer monitoring tool doesn't allow you to generate an alert when specific text like "hard drive" appears in the title. I'd be willing to awaken at 2am if I could pick off a few 2 TB drives for cheap!

Indeed. An external USB HDD went during the night, and another was offered today. Both were < 1TB, but it didn't matter...I don't want or need another external. I'd like to get at least 2 x 1 TB (or preferably 2 x 2TB) 3.5" SATA drives. In that vein, the woot-off has been disappointing.

The missus, on the other hand, has been hankering for a refurbished Dyson vacuum. They had a couple big ones earlier @ $289.99 each, but they had a DC14 @ 179.99 so I snagged one. Plus they had some glow sticks last night--my daughter loves those--so I got some of those.

Now I need Woot to take care of me...and a some 1 or 2 TB SATA drives will do the trick. :) In the meantime, I'll stay VPNed into this work server and finish building my first ever Windows 2008 R2 cluster...
