Hi

I have just installed a new x510. Updated to all the latest fixes and copied over my data from my old server
Thanks to the wonderful database back up add in for transfering the backups
Only 1 issue remained was that the server reported the install computers was incompatibule with media collector
My guess was that as this was the origional install pc for the server so it started out with older connector software and got gradually got itself updated as the server got updated. But for some reasonn the server did not realise this
To cure the issues I decided to do a connecter uninstall on the PC reboot both pc and server and do a connector reinstall
This is where another issue started. The connector folded was empty. My guess is when I did a copy of the software folder on my old pc using Synctoy I wiped out the files in that folder (the home pc restore cd folder is also missing)
Now. I can recreate some of the data copying from C://whs but that still leaves the X510 specific icon etc and some of the dot net stuff missing
Is there a way to recover the x510 specific connector software folder. Thanks

ern

Ps I have also managed to delete HP MSS Client.dmg for the mac. I have a EX470 version of this software. Does this differ on the X510 ?

The Connector folder and .dmg file should be the same if you've got the 3.0 software. If you can't get it from your EX470 let me know and I'll make a copy available for you.

Yes I thought so too
I copied over the folders. The Connector software seems OK although it say HP Media smart server... Instead of X510 Smart store. So for the PC side it works although the wording is all wrong
As for the mac side I must have an out of date .dmg file
The error says
"HP media collector - please update the client software"
The version on "mac" is incompatioble please update etc etc

I forgot, the client files for the HP software are available on the server in C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP MediaSmart Server\Client and C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP MediaSmart Server\Mac

Edit: Those are probably the original install versions, though, not the patch versions. I don't have a DV running at the moment so can't provide the latest versions, sorry.

Hi
Yes they are the origional dated 2009
If any one else has access to an upto date X510 data vault and can provide the mac.dmg and pc connector files I would be much appreciated
The only way of getting them myself is to to go for a server reinstall which I would rather not do if possible

Thanks

The patch files are located in C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP MediaSmart Server\data\.updates\.applied you can probably unpack them to get the updated versions as well.
