This is a long standing problem I've had on multiple Macs across several versions of WHS and OSX. When I copy files to an HP MediaSmart, all, or some of the files do not appear in the shared folder. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. No error message, they just intermittently never appear. Thought perhaps they are being indexed after copy and might appear later, but that isn't the case. Is there a fix for this? It's very irritating.

Is there any pattern to it? Perhaps you could give an example? I'm wondering if it could be a permission issue.

There's no real pattern. It occurs most notably on larger files, 300MB or greater.

For an example, I just selected and dragged five files from my Mac to a WHS share with no errors. The operation appears to complete on each file. File 1,2 and 5 show up on the share, but 3 and 4 are missing. Refresh, wait a while. They still don't appear. Copy 3 and 4 again. Works sometimes, but usually only one or the other will appear. Drag the last file again and it appears. I'm using identical user accounts and passwords on my Mac and WHS to avoid permissions problems. This happens on every share.

If I place the files in a folder and copy the folder, it does not occur, so there's a work-around...but this is a minor annoyance.

From my limited research I've read that the Mac implementation of Samba appears to sometimes have issues, unfortunately I've not seen a quick, easy fix to resolve things.

I'm having the exact same problem. Whenever I try to transfer over 500 files over, only 300 show up. Or if i transfer 50, only 48 will show up.
