I have followed Alex's guide....

and for the life of me----I cannot find a spot on the HP page under "Software and Drivers" to order that set of 3.0 upgrade disks for the EX485

all I see is three patches----not a capability to order a set of CDs

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/soft ... ct=3855978

am I looking in the correct spot??

Anyone have a good link....

My server is on 2.5.15 and is running likea champ.....

From the way I read Alex's guide...

To update I'd have to have these disks and do a server recovery.....

Then I'd have to add in power pack 3
Then any other patches
Then make sure all my clients updated
Then I have to rebuild the settings on my personal, paid for TZO site
And redo the XML code in my customized Remote Access home page....
Then redo my customized Security Certificate
then get McAffee to work again....(always a fun thing to do!)

On second thought......maybe I DON'T want that disk set LOL....

The age old "if it ain't broke----don't fix it" comes to mind.....

Can anyone tell me definitvely what 3.0 does better than 2.5 did???----Why----in your opinion is it a "MUST HAVE" upgrade?

Choose Windows 7 instead of Windows Home Server, it's goofy but that's where the upgrade disks can be ordered from.

Unfortunately HP is no longer making the disks available. :(

Are there alternatives to get a copy or to order these?

Some people have reported finding them on Ebay.

I have been checking there and have only seen them for the 47x series. Is it forbidden to duplicate and exchange or post the .iso's somewhere?

There are licensing restrictions from Microsoft on the Server Recovery disks which prevents HP or anyone else from distributing them electronically. :(

Can you use a set of the discs on more than one server?

Like if a MSS.net member has a set of the discs that they used to upgrade their machine could they then ship it/sell it to someone who needs them now and would we be able to use them on our servers?

Yes, you can use them on more than one server, they are not tied to an individual machine.

I also need the HP MediaSmart Server 3.0 software. Please let me know where I can get it.

HP has just informed me that they no longer offer the 3.0 discs at any price! Also, the MediaSmart server linbe has been discontinued. If anyone has the discs or know where to buy them, please PM me.
