Also, use promo code CELEBRATE10 and you get another 10%. I ordered this afternoon for $405. Best I've seen since the Costco deal in November/Early Dec.

Wow! That is an extremely good deal. Makes me wish I would have waited a few weeks but I was concerned that there would be no more new units available. Oh well, I'm loving my EX490!

Just chatted with Newegg rep and had him change my EX495 return from Replace to refund without restocking. And placed a new order for Ex490 at $405 with coupon - 2% less with Fatwallet cashback Final Total = $397

By the way I called them back and added in the extra 2 year warranty for $29.99. Thought it was worth it since this will be it from HP.

In the UK, DABS.COM have the HP StorageWorks X510, 1Tb system, available for £470 (inc. VAT) and with the HP rebate, which for this system is £45, makes it only £425 !!

I've just had one delivered, so happy days !!

Me wonders if I just picked up your leftovers from Newegg, Hope it wasnt canibalized. Ie missing drive bays, discs etc.

I opened up a preferred account and decided to do 12 months on an open box ex495 which was 390 and a d-link 24 port gigabit switch for 109 after rebate.

Btw, they have a 8 port trendnet on sale for 29.99 right now.

after mr rebates i ended up getting the ex495, for 386.00

I have 30 days none the less to check it out and put it through its paces.

Now i can use those 2TB drives from staples for $62 / each from xmas.

How well can a EX470 and EX495 function on the same network. Ill have to read into it i suppose.

Recieved today,

HP box included, shrink wrap on everything, drive appears to be seagate original 1.5, power cable, drive bays, 1000% complete, and discs sealed. Someone probably had a change of heart real quickly to return it in such intact condition. Good deal at 390.xx for an ex495, practically mint. Will have to connect real soon to see what how it compares to the EX470, with mods.

I wasn't sure if this should be posted here, since there has been some pricing for the StorageWorks systems here along with the MediaSmart servers.

HP has a $30 mail in rebate on the x310 right now and several vendors have it priced for <$400.

Newegg has is for $399: Link

Costcentral has it for $369: Link

The rebate states any authorized HP reseller, here's a copy of the form: Link

Weird thing is, the T&C say that certain purchases are excluded from the mail-in (like those from Newegg, Tigerdirect, etc.); however the Newegg version of the rebate has that line missing, so I assume it is still good if you use their version of the form, but YMMV.

Here's their copy of their version: Link

Costcentral claims to be an authorized HP reseller, so rebate should work there.

Bottom line, after rebate and with free ship, at Newegg, it will be $369 and the the one at Costcentral should be $339. Tigerdirect has it for less, but they charge shipping and not sure if the rebate would work.

Of course, you might sweeten the deal a little with some points/ebates/cashback/etc. at some of these vendors. AMEX give 4x MR Points at Newegg through the Bonus Mall and I think most cashback is around 2% at Newegg. Depending on location, tax may sour the deal slightly.

Buy.com has it for $367 w/free ship: Link and 4% Fatcash there, but I'm not sure if the rebate is good with them (they are listed as an HP Partner, so I guess).

UPDATE:
Newegg now has the x310 for $359 with promo code EMCKGJK44, still free ship and $30 rebate, so final price is $329 now. Alternately, they have the 310 as a combo deal with a SAMSUNG Spinpoint 2TB drive for $404 (after the rebate), so $75 for the drive.

Greetings - new to the site. Thank you for making this forum available.

I purchased a 490 back in December 2010 for $400 - I've loved the unit so much that I recently bought a second unit from eBay for about the same price. The secondary market is absolutely insane on these things, and I consider anyone who can still snag one of these (albeit used) is getting a great machine.

It's a shame that HP discontinued the line, but I'm glad some of you were able to score one before the end.

Matt
