I could really use a spare Caddy/Drive Tray if anyone has one from a defective system, etc. I've been watching Ebay etc - but not seen any available.
If you have a lead on where I can get one, I'd appreciate it...

Thanks

These trays are by far one of the most difficult things to find. If and when they do become available they just get bought up. Here is an interesting post Yakuza made about the trays that may be of interest to you in your search.

Quick update I found this link for an HP Blackbird and if you look at the pictures you will see the drive trays in the unit. http://www.pcpro.co.uk/blogs/2008/10/03 ... kbird-002/

Here is the picture I am refering too:

I went to HP's website and download the manual for one of those units and in looking at the pictured drive in a tray I was amazed at the similarity of the tray so much so that now I am on a hunt to see if I can find one of these trays. I also checked the parts availability and they do not list the trays in the available parts listing for that machine. I tell you as you already know the trays are awesome and since I am about to build an enclosure it sure would be nice to populate it with those trays even though I have already purchase 10 or the planned 30 for my project.

Comp1962, the trays are identical, the Blackbird team leveraged our tray designs. :)

I see that clearly both from that picture and others I have seen online and I downloaded the manual and yup there they are. Still I spent hours looking for trays using the Blackbird and Voodoo DNA and HP Blackbird and all sorts of other combinations of names only to find they are not readily available. Their newer systems are trayless and I just can't win so I guess I will stick with the SNT Trays I started out with for the new enclosure but you have to admit the MediaSmart trays are very nice and I got spoiled by them. I just wish HP would sell them.

On another note the Acer Trays although a different design with their locking feature look like they too use pins instead of screws but I have never had one physically in my hand so I am making an assumption on this but if that were the case then I would not mind using their trays although I know they probably would not fit in a MediaSmart server or if they did they would not lock in as they appear to have an internal lock vs the external latch lock the MediaSmart trays have.

I may have some of these available shortly. I'm waiting on a reply to a PM. If they don't want them I'll let you know.
