This just learned from the connect website.
Microsoft has nuetered Vail by limiting it to a single physical processor.
This might not effect MSS/OEMs much as they will only have a single proc.
But those folks who like to say repurpose an old HP Proliant servers or like to use say Supermicro multi proc systems.
From what I read it will not recognize all of the processors.
You can have multiple cores though.
So my I7-940 (The Beast) build is fine but not my DL-380 server...

Thats a bummer and I certainly hope this is not the case when they release it. My ProLiant runs with 2 Duel Core Processors and I do very much enjoy running it WHS v1 on it due to its performance especially for streaming video online.

I will be honest I have not been following Vail as much as I would like to as I have been focused on other things and all my Server Projects lately have been put on the back burner including the custom 30 drive enclosure I am planning on building which I knew would take me some time so I figured I would have it built and running by the end of 2010.

Guess we will have to wait and see what they do with Vail in the end.

You guys would need to run Aurora to use the 2 physical processors. With quad core CPU's so prevalent I don't think this is a huge issue, though it will indeed annoy and frustrate some users.

I wonder if an old fashioned HAL transplant would work.
