I have two add-ins in the add-in directory. They are NOT showing up on the Available add-ins tab.
What do I need to do to fix that.
One is from Microsoft, WHSToolkit.msi
Server is MediaSmart 495

Thanks
Byron

Here's screen shots of the Add-in folder and the SmartMedia console.

And it doesn't show in the Installed tab either? Have you tried resetting the server console? You can also check the logs on the server, look at the most recently modified HomeServerConsole.log file for errors. They are in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Home Server\logs

I've restarted the server a few times and no joy.

I went back through the console logs and the only error found was is this log.

That looks like the partner manager log, I'd specifically look at the most recently modified homeserverconsole.log immediately after you click on the Available Add-Ins tab. Also check Add/Remove programs on the server to see if the Toolkit is displayed.

You are on the client, you need to look at the logs on the server via Remote Desktop.

If I remember correctly, you have to run the tool kit on the client before it generates the add-in msi. The other one looks like the old Mcafee antivirus. Someone with a better memory ought to chime in.

What I was trying to add is WHSToolkit.msi which I had just downloaded from MS. It appears it's not compatible.
Hmmmm

Hmmmm

If you read my post, you must run the downloaded msi on the client and it will generate the msi for the WHS add-in.

Yup, this line makes it sound like you have the client install placed in the server add-in folder.

I tried to install it on a Windows 7 64bit machine. It didn't like. Guess I'll have to try it from either a vista or XP machine.

Thanks you've been more of a help than you think.

Or it may just be corrupted, you might try downloading from MS again.
