I am looking for the recovery CD ISO for an EX470.

I think I need to recover my EX470. I have a solid red health indicator within 10 seconds of turning on my server. I hope I'm wrong about needing to replace my system drive.

If you give the server sometime does the health light change colors? There are times during the boot process that the Health Light will turn solid Red but then it will change but if you have an issue and the server fully boots you can check to see why the Health Light is RED and from there address the issue.

If the server does not boot then its an entirely different issue.

Press the Recovery button after the Health LED turns red and count the blinks, then look it up in the Wiki.

Thank you! I ended up removing the drive, putting it in a USB enclosure, running an error check from Win 7 without allowing error fixes, saw no errors, detached the drive, put it back in the EX470 and it booted right up. Does not make sense to me. I can only guess there was bad transaction data and just plugging it into the Win 7 box and detaching it probably corrected it. The error check only reassured me that there was not a head crash.

Hi SteffJay,

I'm going to ask for a "me too".

I also want to pre-thank you for posting this. My EX470 lost a drive and I've been trying to get my machine back up but my Server Recovery disk os old and scratched. This is the first I've been able to find after hours of searching.

- Steve

Hi All,

I pulled down StefJay's files from RapidShare and they work great. Unfortunately the process was quite painful as RapidShare puts a 15 minute delay between each file download. The whole thing took me a full 24 hrs to get downloaded. Once I had it, it worked flawlessly. :)

Anyway, I've taken the ISO and uploaded it to SkyDrive so that anyone else that has this problem in the future (or me if I lose the ISO) can just pull it down.

Go to the URL below to download. You will need to have a Windows Live Id. If you have a HotMail account, then you are all set.

You can either select "Download as .zip file" or open the folder icon and download the RAR pieces individually. If you select "Download as zip file", SkyDrive will wrap all 42 pieces into a single zip file to allow for easy downloading if you have a fast connection.

I'm too new to be allowed to insert a URL into a message, so you will have to copy and paste this into your browser of choice. It's actually safer that way too.

The address is: http://cid-41b8bb8ce1767b2b.office.live.com/self.aspx/Public/HP%20Mediasmart%20EX470%20Server%20Recovery%20Disc

Regards,
Steve

p.s. Once you have a LiveID, you will also have your own 25gb SkyDrive.
