I believe they are all EVALUATION COPIES, I think mine was as well, won't be able to confirm until later in the weekend when I could shut it down and takes some pictures.

I don't suppose it does, but just seems a bit crap really. I feel like the BIOS is a beta version! :?

Agreed, it's a well known make but still feel shock to see it's an EVAULATION COPY coming up at boot.

Any of you guys have access to BIOS? I have been trying with PS/2 keyboard somehow still can't get into the BIOS. :x

My guess is that because the BIOS screen was never intended for the end-user to see it, they never bothered putting on a "polished" look for it. I've seen similar instances of hardware in the past, including servers, desktops, add-on cards like SCSI and (e)SATA controllers...you can tell where the vendors didn't put too much stock or effort into making the BIOS/config UI look "pretty" because they figured most users probably would never care to go in there.

In this case, either HP or American Megatrends (or both) probably figured that since the end-user would never see it (since to see it, you'd have to open up your MSS and therefore void its warranty), there was no point in making it pretty. Maybe I'm off the wall on this one, but it seems like a logical explanation.

Matt
