Plugged my Cyberpower CP1500AVRLCD usb cable into my HP EX495 WHS and Grid Junction picked up the UPS without any intervention from me at all and is working perfectly. Just thought i'd post up my positive experience with Grid Junction. Great tool!

I've had the same one, minus the LCD, for a couple years now with grid junction and haven't had any troubles.

I had my EX495 set up with Grid Junction pre-installed waiting for my APC XS1500 w/LCD (Model # BX1500G). I plugged my MSS into the UPS this morning, checked the Grid Junction interface... and it was all set up.

If only everything in life worked so flawlessly!!!

Has anyone had problems relating to HP's official stance on UPS?

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docu ... ct=3969717

HP makes an ominous statement that UPS over USB "can cause a wide range of false errors", apparently something to do with drivers according to wegotserved:

http://www.wegotserved.com/2008/03/25/h ... rt-server/

The power in my area is really flaky (two power bumps just this morning) so I was all set to order a USB UPS and install Grid Junction, but I'm worried I might be swapping one possible source of problems for another.

i have not read the two articles you've posted yet, but my power here at home is flaky also and so far i've had zero problems.

That warning from HP, while new for the EX49x, has been around since the early days of the EX47x. NATIVELY I believe there were problems running a UPS that depended on the WHS (Wins\dows 2003 Server) software. The GridJunction Add-In appears to have resolved them.

It has for me...
