Just how cooler is "ALOT cooler...?" What temperature is it running at? How warm is the room?

As with so many of you other "techies", I can't tell you exact temps.....
I do know when I reach inside the case and the drive's been running awhile, I can tell the difference between the heat generated in the drives............ SEAGATE runs the hottest in my experience (and they vibrate the whole case). and they are VERY NOISY(noisey)?>
WD's GP drives ... you can barely hear them run, they dont vibrate the whole case.

Hey, that's tempting!

If my wife and I weren't cutting costs I might nab a couple of those.

I'd never figure a "REBATE" in as getting a good deal . . . .

That's "IF" you ever get the rebate.

I've been cheated out of rebates from Compusa, Staples, and Office Depot.

NEVER AGAIN

Officemax has a deal on the EX740 and a SEAGATE 500GB Hard drive for $569.99!

Actually you buy the MediaSmartServer, and the 500GB hard is free.

I think its online only though. it was in this weeks ad.

I thought I got a great deal last week when I bought two WD 500 GB drives at Best Buy for $100 ea. Then this weekend, they had the same drives for $85. Too good a deal to pass up. I'm already running WHS on a home built box, but ordered the HP MSS today. FIRST thing will to up the memory, then add my three 500GB drives for a total of 2Tb.

Curious, at exactly WHAT BESTBUY did you see those drives for $85.00?

Yes, you were right, they were on sale for $99.99 last week or previous week..... But I haven't seen them on sale for $85.00 since Best Buy first introduced them . . . . .
