Newegg has the 1TB WD Green drive for $84.99 but if you use this code, HDDSALE15, you'll get another $10 off which brings the price down to $74.99 plus free shipping.

Anyone know what the operating temp and energy use is for the new Seagate 1.5 TB 5900 rpm drive versus the Seagate 1.5 TB 7200 rpm drive?

My Seagate LP 1.5TB shoudl be on the way next week. I can only speak about the Seagate 1TB 7200 rpm which in my MSS runs about 5 degrees warmer then the 1TB WD GP drives. I think I recall Cavediver commenting that the Seagate 1.5TB LP drive actually runs approx 5deg cooler then the WD GP 2TB drives (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5042)

A NewEgg deal that I alerted David McCabe of over on his Home Server Show website...

http://homeservershow.com/reader-submitted-deal.html

They have a Sans Digital TR4M-B eSATA 4-disk tower combo that includes a 1TB Western Digital drive for $205 shipped. . They’re also selling Hitachi 1TB drives for $65 shipped after $10 mail in rebate. So the combo with the 1TB WD drive and 3 additional Hitachi 1TB drives will end up costing you $400 for a 4TB eSATA tower for your EX47x MSS boxes.

As with most of these deals, this has a limited duration so act quick!
