Hello All

So far I found from searching that the only 4gb Ram Module that works for the ex470 series is the G.Skill 4gb 800MHz (out of stock :( ), are there others that work, that you have running? please provide link or model number

Thank you!!
Jonathan

I'm pretty sure that 2GB is the maximum you can get to work. You'll get red lights and no-boot with a 4GB sitck in it. Someone correct me If I'm wrong.

Other users have reported success with 4GB sticks, some discussion here.

not sure, i've always gone on the principle the more space available to use (whether it is used or not) the better. Besides can't the page file be increased once ram is upgraded, and overall performance including file shifting and other serving services improve???

perhaps i'm an idiot.... likely... lol

Guy's, this is just another computer and as such you can run anything on it you want from ripping to streaming from backups to data storage. When you start doing more with it like controlling the house electrical and video survalence, you need more horsepower and more memory. From my perspective you can never have too much CPU and certainly not too much memory.

No, the conversion to x2 was not difficult with so many people contributing and certainly Ymboc deservers much of the credit with the bios mods. The problem now is finding the right cpu - BE-2300, BE-2350, 3800 EE SFF and maybe some new ones will come out of AMD with 35 Watt TDP, who knows.

My guess is the BE-2300 is the safest bet but if you can find it the 35 watt 3800+ EE SFF is in my opinion the best solution at this time.
