It plain does not work. Installed to the same directory and it said my trial version has expired. 4.4.4 web interface does not show a license code. It merely says "this server is registered".

I had a different experience. Mine works and it displays a license code.

Anyone hear anything about an update yet? I searched all over the Twonky website an nothing they just say HP! HP! HP! maybe.... I am interested in some of the features they are discussing in future version like transcoding. Not a huge fan of some of the other attemts that were taken but you never know maybe this one could wow me. also Im looking to get bug fixes.

I looked all over and still dont have a definitive answer. guess next step is to contact HP. only problem is if they are outsourced it wont matter the call center wont know the info anyhow. I have worked 3rd party support before.

Send an email ticket in to PVconnect. Found a Customer contact Webform on their website. Unfortunately if was a waste of time. its been about a week maybe week 1/2 and no response at all.

Found this after posting the above. Seems that PVconnect went through a major upgrade since our Add-in was created. New user interface seems more like iTunes but with more compatibility

It seems like we have an old cast off and have just been dumped out in the cold doesn't it, I don't even know if we just buy the twonky new version if that would help us out, either way this is pretty poor service from both parties.

Hi,

Anyone else got a newer version working?

Mike.

So does anyone know how we can contact HP about this? There have been a couple of releases since our version of PVConnect with some pretty decent benefits.

I've been watching this as well, and also Tbone posted the question on the Mediasmartserverhome forums and didnt get a response. I'd guess, unless we see it in the next update then the version we have is final?

I'd expect a lot of focus in HP is for Encore...but there are some HP lurkers on the forums, maybe someone will chime in!

I've got version 5.0.40 of Twonky Server but I'm having issues with it with my Xbox 360's.

For some reason it does not display any of the videos on the 360 but version 4.4.9 did.

I've been speaking with Rick (Twonky product manager) via e-mail to see if it can be resolved.

He also mentioned in one of his posts on the twonky forums that:

Quote:
I love my HP MediaSmart server. TMS 5.x runs great on it.

Another user then asked:

Quote:
How did you get this to install on the Mediasmart Server? Does it install like an add in or is it like installing a regular program? I have the PVconnect add-in but have been looking for a update for it due to listed bug fixes. I noticed that the Medismart server EX48X was shipping with a new version and was wondering if there will be an update availible for the EX47X??

His response to this was:

Quote:
I'm pretty sure that the new 5.x server add-on was pushed to my MediaSmart server a while back. If you searches for updates does it install this? If not send me your e-mail and I'll see if I can send you other suggestions.

I've sent him and e-mail on this as well to see if he can provide some further info.

Rick did send me a file which ended up being Version 5 beta 2.

I installed it but the add-in seemed not to work properly as it was not displaying the shared folders and I was not able to add any.

I was able to manually change the settings by going via the web bconfig page.

However, I'm still having issues where some video files don't play on the Xbox 360 when they did with previous versions (i.e. version 4.4.4 through to 4.4.9).
