I am having quite a few problems that all seem to lead to MacAfee. Am I the only one? I am new at this but can see from a few posts that many people seem unhappy with MacAfee.

I keep getting messages that not all MacAfee components are loaded and that MacAfee is not up to date. I have uninstalled MacAfee and reinstalled it several times because I saw an HP post that MacAfee should be loaded after the service pack 1 update that added the vault.

I have tried to buy the MacAfee as I once had that message, but didn't really get any confirmation that worked.

My access to the console is very slow during this process and I suspect that MacAfee might be affecting that as well.

I'm in the same boat. McAfee constantly nags me that it is not updated, but when I check for updates it says it is.

It constantly nags about HotFix 1 - but won't install it. Just gives an error code 1618.

It won't even uninstall for me - so consider yourself ahead of the game there. I'm thinking I'll end up formatting my server....

I have just given up on the McAfee. I deleted it, and everything has been great since. Since I have antivirus on all networked computers, and don't use the remote acess I really don't see why I need the McAfee software.

You may hve difficulty deleting because according to various sites, the McAfee is trying to review all files. If you are persistent, and go to the settings, add on's you will eventually get the opportunity to delete.

This McAfee software looks like it was designed as a mickey mouse enterprise solution for small businesses with many users. I don't think it will work very well in that enviornment. However, it certainly doesn't work for the home network user.

HP and McAfee really didn't think this through and don't provide any helpful kind of support.
