Good afternoon.

I installed the PVConnect add-in today. I have a PS3 and have been running Twonky on my MSS. My question.... How do I "find" the PVConnect on my PS3. I see the PS3 in the PVConnect software on the MSS, but can't seem to find the PVConnect on my PS3. I see the Twonky but not PVConnect. I have many AVI file that will only play using Twonky on my PS3 and would love to use PVConnect.

Any help is appreciated.

Make sure you have DLNA server browsing enabled on the PS3. It's under the settings tab.

I am pretty sure that PC Connect is the SAME as Twonky.

http://www.twonkyvision.de/

goes to:

http://www.packetvideo.com/index.html

Just another name for the same product. For me, the symbol on the PS3 looks the same when I uninstaled Twonky and put the Add-in for PV Connect..

As for finding OTHER servers out there, go to the Video icon in the PS3 and go UP to do a search for other video servers... Oh wait, was that for the 360? the PCH? Heh, I can't remember, but its there in the menu somewhere..

John is correct Twonky is PVconnect.

Just a FYI watch out for firmware 2.41 it changes the naming of the PS3 for DNLA. This change will make your media read unsupported data. The is fixes posted in multiple threads on this forum.

In the fix it directs you to Remote Desktop into the media server then use windows explorer to gain access to the file needing a corection on the C: drive. I am new at this so forgive me but how do I open windows explorer on my MSS.

Assuming you've opened an RDC session, click on the Start button & select 'Explorer'. Windows explorer will open.

If the question is "How do I open an RDC session?" then I'd start by reading the tutorial in the wiki. Here's a link.

Thanks this was perfect and just what I needed. I feel like an idiot it was so easy once I realized I needed to use my PC's remote desktop and not the one provided by MSS

I'm glad HP pointed me to this forum. I was on the MS WHS forum where i first learned about RDP. This is better. I seem to have gotten out all the password errors and host file errors, but am hung on Terminal Server errors: am using Auto, is that right? What is a Terminal Server? Is it the HP MSS? Should i use settings other than Auto?

I want to RDP in to fix PS3 errors, change workgroup, set IP address and generally look around. But can't get in yet. Thanks.
