I have an EX495 Mediasmart server that I need to determine the relationship from the drive defined in the server storage tab to the actual drive bay location.. I have added an external esata drive to the server for a total of 4 2TB drives. The external is starting to make some end of live noise. I can not figure out which drive it is to use the removal tool. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry, I am new to this forum, so I may not be asking this correctly.

Just pull out one drive out at a time till the noise stops.
You will get errors but once you push them back in and reboot the errors will clear.
It should also confirm what drive bay location it is from the error.

Thank you. I will start pulling and watching the drive status.

The issue is external drive enclosures.
For example my nas is ordered top to bottom.
My esata enclosure is I think ordered bottom to top.
Or vise versa
So it is best to figure out on your own.
