Hi all,

I'm very interested in getting a vga cable, but wondering about how will I be able to use a mouse/keyboard then?

My current issue is I'm currentély able to access my Datavault's HDDs from my laptop, but I'm unable to access the console. It is also visible in Networks, yet not reachable (permission not given from server).

Thank you.

I can say (usb) for keyboard/mouse.

As far as the Laptop access to the console, that software needs to be installed on the laptop or Maybe un-installed and re-installed to fix it.
The server would give the permissions for access once the console is access and the username /password are entered.

Hope this helps, Good Luck!!!

There are some standalone debug cables for sale on ebay if you look. I grabbed one a while back but they are expensive for what you get.

Hi, I really need a debug board if anyone is willing to part with one. I have 4 EX470-485s that I need to try and repurpose. I don't know if anyone is even monitoring this thread anymore, but hopefully someone that can help is. :)

Thank you in advance for any help and assistance with this!

If you cant find one of the VoV boards (and they are fairly few and far between nowadays, the best alternative is to pick up one of the $30 "mediasmart VGA adapters" still being sold on fleabay. You can just use a usb mouse and keyboard so the VoV VGA board isn't really a must have or your SOL.

I've found that unless your actually tweaking BIOS or doing a non v1 OS install, you'd typically not have the VGA adapter, keyboard, or mouse permanently attached anyhow. Most anything else you'd need to do inside the OS can be done by RDP.

I know how old this post is but, I just dusted off and fired up my old MediaMart 475. Because it runs on SMB1 network protocol it's useless on my network but I can still get at it with remote desktop. The thought to upgrade if possible to Vista or W7 so it supports SMB2 and up seemed like a cool idea.

Are these gen 4 debug boards still kicking around?
