Hi

Ive restored my HP EX490 using the Windows HS 2011 disk but now I do not have any HDD lights.

Does anyone have any advice on how to resolve this issue, I cannot find any drivers or applications on the disks that will help and the website doesn't have anything to download.

I had to remove the HDD and load the WHS 2011 using a different PC as I couldn't do it via USB in the device and I could not using the recovery via a windows PC as it would not find the device on the network

You can get the lights to work "somewhat" like they did with WHS V1. They will never work exactly like they did.
It takes Software/Drivers/Luck which some of the stuff you will need may be hard to find these days.
Here is a link to read. it talks about the ex-48X but should still work with the 490 as well:
http://forum.wegotserved.com/index.php?/topic/18458-hp-ex48x-lights-management-driver-for-whs-2011/

And you can do some searching in this site, you wll most likely find where they have done it.
Maybe in the WHS 2011 thread.

What you gain in WHS 2011 (larger hard drive size) you lose in lights functionality.
GoodLuck
