:mss:

Hello,

I have a ex475 that is running 1.3.6.21622

I tried following the instructions from this page
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01506562#c06562c

but I keep getting the "can't install on this version of windows" messages.

Is there any recommend technique for installing the connector software on a 64 bit windows install? either 7 or 10.

thanks!

all I know is it should just work.
You need to install it from the server not the cd
The cd does not have the 64bit connector.
I use a hp490

Also You may need to temporarily disable any security on the client such as virus protection or firewall defender, etc.
Till it installs.

http://[servername]:55000 should do the trick.
You may end up doing it and then uninstalling it then installing it again, there is a couple versions and as it upgrades, it needs the new connector as well.

But use the link above with the real name of the server on the 64 bit pc you want the connector on, it should go.

Let us know, good luck
all 6 of my desktops are 64 bit win7 and it works fine.

it was showing the version that the HP website indicated, but it ran a few more updates and then it had the 64 bit connector software in the share.

working well now!

Awesome! Good Job!
That is the first thing I do after a reset, is get ALL the HP updates and ALL the Microsoft updates before going to far into anything else.

Good luck and enjoy.
You will want to get the Free Smart addon to see how your drives are doing:
http://www.dojonorthsoftware.net/dl/InstallHomeServerSMARTClassic.zip

It's a must have, then think about how you are going to keep a backup of all you "you can't lose stuff".
I use the non-pooled backups and I synctoy to another server, just in case.
