Will these have USB connectors? If so, could they be connected to the MSS to add additional storage?

How about eSATA connectors?

Just a thought.

I saw some of these at a local electronics store the other day (actually they were in the box). At first my heart started beating very quickly, the box looked just like my MSS server box, the picture on the box looked like my MSS, the product was called MediaSmart, and the price was $200- $300. I was thinking they were mismarked servers and that I could buy a second but after looking closer, as someone else suggested, they were just some type of NAS.

Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha. Maybe it was something else but I am certain it was in a box very similar in size to my MSS.

There is no way or room for the heatsinks/PSU/MB Etc... IMHO the MSS is as small as it gets

For those of you that have been following this thread, the new line of HP Media Vaults are starting to ship and we just wrapped up our review on the "little" cousin to the MediaSmart line.

Do you guys get an eval unit from HP? If so, do you get to keep it?

Man, that would be sweet. :)

Another MSS geek from Nebraska? I thought I was the only one! Cool! 8)

I've been waiting for the release of this new HP NAS. I have a need for one at work. I agree with the other comments here though. HP should release a 4-drive eSATA tower that matches the MSS. That would be sweet!
