So now that Ember Media Manager is dead, has anyone found a good replacement?

When did it die? I see on the home page you get a message that the account has been suspended...

For what programs are you looking to get metadata for?

The website went down this week. There is a topic going in the XBMC forums where you can still get the source from rapidshare.

I was trying to get the second season of V in EMM. (all of one show so far). My old HTPC wasn't able to find the show, but my new (2days old) HTPC was able to find the show through a manual scan.

The software itself still seems to pull data from the TV.db. I haven't pointed EMM to my movie directory. I've been using my movies for that.

I know a few other metadata programs (metabrowser, MCM, MyMovies, YANFOE) offer XBMC metadata support. The one thing I am not sure about is for TV shows if the support is there as well.

TV shows seems to be the hardest thing to get looking pretty in HTPC's.

I think it depends on how you store them. I store them as individual episode files, so it is easy as long as you name correctly to have them look just as nice as movies on an HTPC. TV Shows stored as Multi Disc gets a lot more tricky

What I did

Download = Telecharger the following

1. Ember 1.3.2441 - Extract

2. Ember Revisited - Extract > Copy and Overwrite All Files into Ember 1.3.2441

3. Rogue Scraper - Copy .dll into Ember 1.3.2441/modules

(below credit to jonte511)
4. Download this EMM port for PortableApps

5. Unzip the contents of that file anywhere. I used 7zip for this, might also work with WinRAR or similar as well.

6. Go to the folder "\$_OUTDIR\Ember Media Manager\" and copy the contents to your EMM Revisited folder, overwriting all files when asked.

7. Start the new "Ember Media Manager.exe" and you're good to go!

Change a few setting to reflect language preferences

Ember Fixed Error Msg, No Saved NFO, Fanart, etc to HDD, Not Seeing Old NFO, No Scraper Data

Thanks To everyone who posted any kind of solution

I've been using Metabrowser for a year or so and never had any problems finding TV shows and getting pretty metadata for Mediabrowser.
