Here's a summer bummer.
Microsoft is bumping their prices.
But they are giving this little promo right now.
Renew before Nov 1, and you get a gold account for $39.99.
Of course starting Nov 1, you could buy a family plan at $99 which will give you four accounts to play with.

This raises some questions.
Why the special expires prior to the family plans availability?
If I buy a bunch of accounts now can I roll them into a family plan?
What would be my motivation to buy fewer accounts at a higher price unless I simply needed one?

I think I'm fairly average as a user of xbox I have an account for myself, one for my son, and a spare for friends to use for a total of three.
Oddly enough I paid right around $99 for all three so the family pack looks good.
The $39 special not so special.

Unfortunately Microsoft has been very tight liped on the family plan.
I wonder how their going to reconsile those of us with multiple gold accounts migrating to the family plan.
Specially as some of us have multiple years paid in advance, I have three one year gold cards waiting to be entered.
I'm sure there are others with a stock pile out there.
I can't be the only one who buys them when I find them cheap.

Hmmm could be why their so quiet, they havent figured it all out yet.
