Anyone else notice the spike in the price of RAM? What's the deal?!

It depends on which RAM you are talking about. I picked up 4 RAMs for my farm a few weeks back, got a killer deal. If you are talking about PC Ram then yes, prices have definitely spiked. I don't know if there is a shortage or something, or just knowing people will pay up for DDR3???

DDR3 is very expensive especially when you get into specific voltages for the one Intel DP55WG board I have in my closet just waiting for me to buy some memory. The dimms that have a more dense memory footprint tend to be the most expensive, but it's accross the board for DDR3 especially. This specific board is for my workstation so eventually I want to have 16 gigs of ram which means I'll be starting out with 8gigs (4 gig DIMMS) which will be a nice chunk of change.

This is great news! I have several sticks of ram I purchased a couple of years ago that I never used. If prices have gone up a lot, then now is the time for me to sell it.

Indeed. Memory prices are generally up across the board from where they were a year ago. Have not researched why the spike in prices has occured. I suspect a slowing demand caused by 2009 financial crisis.
