The BEST HEADPHONES for the PC I have ever tried are these:
http://www.medusa-usa.com/medusa-51-home-edition-p-876.html
5.1, very good bass and noticeable surround, comfortable, easy to switch from speakers to headset by pushing one button, separate volume control, great mic for voice recognition and clan speak, etc. I have seen them rated terrific on down to great and my son and I are enthusiastic users. Must buy.

PS I was on the Media streaming page making a comment about being able to use headphones and put the above in the post. I feel that it is important enough for this separate post!

He needs to use the
[ url ] web link [ / url ] tag so that it doesn't truncate the text.

Looks like a winner. I too had Stand alone 5.1 headset from err Zalman maybe? One nice thing about the Medusa phones is that I can switch between headphones and speakers with a push of a button. The other thing is that the Medusa are extremely comfortable. Could use a little more bass so the turtlebeach could be better.
I wonder if USB speakers actually use the sound card? Seems a waste if they didn't.

The older headphones were $123.68. The new one here would be $134 +$15 shipping fed-ex from England. As far as I know , my old phones did not had a subwoofer in there but a vibrating mechanism for low bass. These look like a better set!

Thanks John for updating the link.
