I have purchased a Dell Inspiron Mini 10v for my daughter.

With the skills & confidence that I have learned from the Mediasmartserver.net forums, I have decided to upgrade the memory to 2gb on it, even though this means complete disassembly of the notebook.

The cpu is an Intel Atom N270 1.6 Ghz.

My question is which memory should I buy?

DDR2 533, 667, 800?

All of the prices a pretty close & from what I have learned about memory in these forums I think they will all work just at a reduced speed.

The 533 has a cas latency of 4

The 667 & 800 have a cas latency of 5

I am leaning towards the 533 but would appreciate some input so I don't waste time second guessing myself.

You may have found this already, but here's a video guide to upgrading the RAM. I wouldn't worry about CAS timings, there will be no noticeable difference. I'd get the fastest you can for the best price, knowing that it'll likely run at the lower speed.

Ram upgrade was not as difficult as you might have thought from the video. Took less then 30 minutes.

I like the Dell mini 10v so well that I have ordered 1 for my wife & another 1 for myself.
