I just watched the trailer, saw it in the google ads here on the forums, I gotta say that movie looks bad ass! I'm definitely a fan of the first (as well as the childhood cartoons) and am pleased to see that the new one doesn't look too cheesy as sequels can often be.

Yeah, watched both trailers about 10 times already. Can't stand that Lebouf guy, but T2 does look great, as does Megan Fox.... First need to try and get to the new star trek, haven't been to the movies in over a year...

This one does seem like it might be worth going to the show and seeing.

I don't go to the movies very often because I always end up feeling like I got jipped. Especialy since you can now rent a movie from a Red Box machine for only a dollar.

They also seem to be moving from the big screen to DVD at a faster pace now.

Watchmen was the last movie that I wasted my money on and I thought that it sucked.

The only good part about the movie was watching the look on the wifes face every time there was a sceen with the big silver guy.
Now that was priceless.

I also think Transformers looks pretty cool though.

I seen the Transformers 2 trailer when I went to see Star Trek. Looks pretty good! I hardly ever go to the movies, but a Trek Flick will get me out of the house. The trailer for the new GI Joe movie looked awesome too!!!

What did you think of Trek, I am trying to find some time to see that?

I liked it, but I'm not sure I liked the direction that the events in the movie took the Star Trek story. I suppose the same could be said of the show Star Trek: Enterprise. I'll say no more as I don't want to spoil it for you. :)

Being one who's old enough to have watched the original series first run, yet who's NOT a "purist", I found the movie to be great. I won't mention any "spoilers", as it's more fun to see how things unfold in the film, but it's fair to say that Nimoy's presence not only explains and justifies the events and changes, but also very effectively "passes the torch" to the fledgling crew.

The acting was very good, with a standout performance by Karl Urban - he absolutely nails McCoy, yet doesn't do so by imitating DeForest Kelley. The whole cast does a good job at covering the originals, while bringing a new dimension to them, I thought.

My only regret is having made the choice to see it at a local theater - I should have opted to travel a bit to see it in IMAX. The CGI battle scenes were rendered very well, and I think they'd be stunning in an IMAX setup!

Well worth making the time to see!
