New York-based ISP Cablevision has announced today that they will be offering all 3 million of their subscribers the option to upgrade to much speedier new DOCSIS 3.0 cable Internet, offering incredibly fast speeds of 101Mbps downstream and 15Mbps upstream for only $99.95 per month.

That's sweet! Just yesterday my office got a business cable plan in to supplement our T1, we now have 22mb down and 7.5 mbit up, it makes quite a difference.

Currently I am at 15 down and 2 up. Cablevision offers a "boost" of 30 down and 5 up for an extra $9/month, so I am planning on upgrading. 100 down and 15 up would be sweet but for the price and my needs probably a little overkill. I am hoping the 5mb up will make a big difference if i decide to use an online backup service or maybe create a vpn to do backups (thinking my dads house).

The worst thing about this is I work for a service of Cablevision and would get it for free, if I lived in their service area! Might have to move for 101m down!
