I thought it would be a big hassle to hook a computer up to my high def 32" TV in my bedroom. Au contraire, it was plug and play with an older NVidia card (8800GT?). NVidia has it all mapped out with 8 by 10 color glossy photos with pictures and arrows drawn on the back of each one (or at least a hardware wizard).
Using at first an adapter plug that came with the card, I went composite that worked right out of the box. As some of the desktop was cut off, I dropped to a lower resolution than the native 1900 by 1080 that the TV supported.
Later on, I found under advance settings in the NVidia graphics setting a way to get the screen to shrink or expand to fit the TV. Worked like a charm so I went back to high def.
Yesterday, I received a DVI to HDMI converter (CHEAP!) and plugged that in. At first I did not get a picture but by switching back and forth between the composite input and HDMI, I got the hardware wizard to run and then moved over to HDMI. I would imagine that If I rebooted with only the DVI running, I would have had the box automatically pop up.
Picture is great with SOME caveats. One is that in order to read web pages and such at native resolution, I cannot just sit across the room (of course, cannot do that with my computer monitor either!). No big deal. Also harder to hit the right button at a distance with a wireless mouse!
PC and TV? two big thumbs up!

Instead of a 32" TV you shoulf get a 72" -- then you may be able to see it across the room!

Well, By hitting the Control KEY and the mouse, I can expand a web page to enlarge as much as I want. So seeing is not the big issue. It is trying to control the teeny mouse pointer from across the room. If I move to Win7, I can control the SIZE of the test, the icons, the menus at the top of the page, and the mouse cursor. That is probably the way to go.
I have NOT tried to run in the media center TV mode yet. Next thing to do.
BTW, movies look fine using the built in DVD player on the computer.

I have a 42' plasma in my bedroom and it is definitely difficult to sit on my bed and browse the web. Using Media Center is no problem though. I ended up having IE zoomed in to help view, but the pain is that you lose much of the page and constantly have to use the scoll bars. It is a different story on my 60' tv downstairs, I have never seen so much internet in my life :D
