For the last two+ yeard I have had a Samsung SyncMaster 206BW 20" LCD monitor ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001095 ) and a 10+ year-old IBM G94. Today the G94 decided to become heat-sensitive. (Too cheap to turn on the a/c today!) Time to replace it.

It seems that the "sweet spot" for LCD monitors is at about 21.5". Based on my OUTSTANDING experience with the Samsung I started looking there. So far I have not seen anything else in the 21.5-14" range that looks better than these:

SAMSUNG 2233SW: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001308
SAMSUNG 2243SWX: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001319

When I compare the specifications (need to go to the Samsung page for the details on one) they look VERY similar.

Thought I would ask here if:

    (1) Any one have any experience with either of these?
    (2) Anyone ever compared the two and have a recommendation?
    (3) Is there anything else I should take a good look at before pulling the trigger?

Thanks in advance for all feedback!

(Man was I used to having two displays. I feel lost this afternoon!)

John,

I can only say that I have a Samsung LCD TV ... one of their new ones and I am absolutely impressed at the quality and the picture clarity! I would definitely but a Samsung Monitor in a heartbeat if I needed one.
