I have recently started getting an error in iTunes when trying to sync the wife & daughters iPods.

The ipod will sync like normal and then at the very end when it should tell you that it is OK to disconect it will error with "Disk cannot be found, Please insert a disk into drive E:" "Cancel, Abort, Continue" and loops back to syncing. The only way to disconnect the ipod is to unplug it even though it says "Do not disconnect"

I thought that maybe it was the iPod but, I get the same error on 3 other iPods, including a brand new never been used one today.

I though maybe it was the iTunes, so I uninstalled and then reinstalled iTunes. Still now luck.

When I tried to google the error I get hits that are similar but none that are the same.

One suggestion was the following.
#1. Open device manager on the PC
#2. Start iTunes
#3. Connect iPod
#4. Enable disk use on iPod
#5. Click OK
#6. Click Apply
#7. Quickly Swich to Device Manager right click on any item & select "Scan for hardware changes"
#8. Swich back to iTunes, were you should have a nice. working iPod!

No Joy!!

Any suggestions?

If all else fails, I have used this program in the past to copy all the contents of my ipod to my computer and into i-tunes: http://www.download.com/iPodCopy/3000-1 ... 52431.html

I believe you can then totally reset/reformat your ipod.

That sounds like more of a USB problem, actually. Are you able to use other USB devices normally? Anything in the event log(s) that might shed some light?

Are you able to sync the iPods to another computer?
