My wife decided we need another Harmony 880 up stairs in our family room (shocked me :D ).

I don't have it yet, and haven't been in the harmony software since setting up the first one for the theater.

I'm curious if I can add another configuration in the Harmony software for another one, or do I need to load the software on another machine?!

Thanks

My apologies Sean. I've edited my post.

I did a quick Google and the recommended suggestion from Logitech is to create a new account for each Harmony remote you have. You'll use the same web-based software but login with separate accounts for each Harmony remote you have.

Sean, it is a pain, as Richard mentioned you just need to create a new account. I have a Harmony One and a Harmony 890 and had to creat two separate accounts, two separate passwords, etc... I don't understand why this can't all just aggregate under one username???

Thanks guys!

That does kinda suck. You'd think Logitech would want people to buy more remotes and make the software easier to add more.

Agreed, this is my only real complaint with the Harmony Remotes. I have an 880 and a 550 and really like them.

for anybody interested, the 880 popped up on Newegg's email. Recertified, $80 delivered with the promo code. I just ordered one.

Also, for anyone who gets the 890 or 1000 w/ RF Extender, you need to not only link up the remote to the computer to update but also the RF extender (the 890 comes with the RF extender, the 1000 does not). PITA to always have to unplug the RF everytime you update, but otherwise the 890 w/ RF works great, get no lag time and can keep my cabinet with my A/V equipment locked. I like the Harmony One best, especially with the feel of the remote and the touch screen, don't understand why Logitech did not make it compatible with the RF Extender. They make great products but sometimes I just scratch my head with them...

:offtopic: One little rant. For anyone who has a PS3, you know that the harmony remotes are not compatible with as the PS3 does not have an IR built in. Thinking about getting one of the hack Bluetooth to IR devices out there, but at another $100 not sure it is worth it. :-(0)

You could try one of these just for the IR/USB dongle!!

I haven't tried it, but I would assume it would work for the PS3 and teach the Harmony the codes from the Nyko.

the problem with that from what i have read is that the nyko does not have the ability to power on or off. i know some people have gone the nyko way and are happy. i would prob rather go that way then spen 100 plus on the homebrew ways.so many other gadgets to waste my money on :D

UPDATE:

Just wanted to let you know that, I registered the new 880 under my wife's name on the same computer with the Harmony software, and everything worked great!
She loves it! I programmed it for her favorite channels, and added the Digital Music (Comcast) stations on the display and now she can turn right to "Sounds of the Season" for her Christmas music fix.
