Post subject:  USA power outlet boxes??

Hi, I am building a new home here in Australia and wish to use the Intelix HDMI 4x4 matrix for HDMI distribution. The wall plate outlets are "Double-Gang"

I can see by the picture that it has four mounting holes which is a different setup than we use here in OZ. I have seen home renovation shows on TV from USA and they have metal boxes in the wall that the power outlets screw to (again we do not use that idea here). I can't find out what boxes to buy as I don't know what to search for on google. Anyone know what to use to mount these in a plaster wall?

thanks,
Jarrod

Yep the industry calls them old work or cut in boxes.
Also there is a flavor of them with out a back for low voltage cables.

BTW they are both made by Carlon.

Warning there are metal boxes that would work but then you usually would need 2 special clips to hold it in the wall . They are called madison clips.

If your code does not require boxes for low voltage cable, these also work great and are easer to deal with than working inside a box:
