I have a Dell mini with a 16GB SSD.

Windows 7 SP1 will not install because there is not 5GB of free space remaining on the hard drive.

I have cleaned up the HD and removed all programs except for Windows Live Essentials & I'm still about 3.75GB short.
Short of purchasing a new HD, does anyone know how to install Windows 7 SP1 on an HD with less than 5GB of avalible disk space?

Do you have a spare laptop drive around? If you do, make sure you have a current backup on your WHS, then just pop the bigger drive in, and restore the machine from that backup. After the restore, let SP1 install, do some cleanup, perform another backup. Then pop the SSD back in, and restore from the backup...

You could even do a similar procedure if the only "spare" laptop drive you have is on another laptop. Backup the spare laptop, then use the drive out of the other laptop "temporarily" for the purpose of upgrading the mini. After you're done, put the drive back in the original laptop and restore it from backup.

16GB has got to be very tight for Win7 though... I thought I was pushing it with my 60GB SSDs...
