I upgraded the processor in my Dell XPS 710 to a Core 2 Quad Q6600; the processor I took out was a Core 2 Duo E6700 2.66 GHz "Conroe."

After contemplating taking the E5300 out of my EX450, and putting in the E6700, I decided to keep the E5300 where it is and put the E6700 up for sale on eBay. It's a 1066 MHz FSB LGA 775 processor, so if you've got an EX490 and still have that horrible stock Celeron processor, the E6700 would be an awesome upgrade for you!

Or, if you've got a DIY home server that can take an LGA 775 processor, the E6700 might be a good choice for you as well.

I started the bidding at just 99 cents on a 10-day auction, and there's no reserve. A fan/heatsink is included, although that won't work for an EX490, but it sure will in a DIY home server. Good luck and happy bidding!

Danke,
Matt
