can anyone comment on the performance of these drives? I have been gun shy of WD for a little while now.

The WD green drives are a fine choice and perform well. I've had at least one in my server for the last year with no issues so far. Others on the board have had WD drives running much longer and only use WD green. I also use Seagate and they are fine too. Most drives these days are fine for the MSS. It really comes down to price/gb. I think Fry's has the Seagate 1.5 TB "green" (or low power) drives for $89 this week.

yes, I saw that deal at fry's. Might pick up that one instead, this one is now 89$ and the code has expired.

I have had two WD drives fail in the past 1-2 years, more than I would have expected, both about 2 years old with NOT a lot of usage on them.
