Update: July 8, 2010. The 120mm fan boards are out of stock now. I will update this thread if and when they're available again.

The new 120mm fan board has several enhancements over the stock 4220 fan board.

1. Accepts 3-120mm fans.

2. The fan board has three sets of mounts for the fan power backplane providing the option to mount the fan power backplane in one of three positions, 1) stock position at the bottom of the fan board between the fan board and the sas backplane, 2) & 3) on the face of the mobo side of the fan board either above or below the fans.

3. Floating PEM nuts on the bottom of the fan board for easier mounting to the bottom of the case.

4. Open slots at the bottom on each side of the fan board for passing cables. This also provides for easier removal and installation of the fan board since cables can be installed before the fan board and the fan board can be installed and removed without the need to remove cables.

Price is $65.00 each, which includes packing and UPS ground shipping to anywhere in the continental US. PM me for payment instructions.

Looks great! Have you ever considered 140mm fans for a board like this?

Curious does this work with all versions of the Norco 4220? It seems like there are at least two versions, of the Norco 4220 one with a slim CD slot, one without.

It should. The fan board sits between the sas backplane and the mobo. The CD slot is above the HDD trays at the front of the case.

The previous version of this fan board, which I bought from Cavediver, works in my 4220 which has the slim DVD slot and NO other openings in the front (version with 2 2.5inch HDD bays on top).

The original 4220 had slim DVD, HDD bay (not open), and then another open bay.

My version is the second iteration of the 4220 so I can confirm it works in the newer model and Cavediver has the original model - so anyone with a 4220 should be covered with this board. Works VERY well.

I have the original verision of the 4220. The fan board will work in either versions of the 4220.

Do you happen to have an idea if/when another set will be available?

An order has been placed with the fabricator. 2 - 4 weeks eta. I'll update this thread when they're available.

Put me down for one of these also once you receive your new shipment please. I love the Norco case but wow those 80mm fans are really loud. What fans do you recommend using with your Fan Board and how could you compare the sound levels. As of right now, i hear it all over the house. Thanks and cant wait to quiet the storm in the case.

Thanks

Keith,

I'm not maintaining a list of interested buyers. I'll update this thread when the next batch is available. You can order one then. Just make sure you're subscribed to this thread to receive updates.

Hi

No problem. I have subscribed to the page. What would you suggest for fans. I believe i read that you are using the 1600 rpm scythe fans SY1225SL12H in your Norco. Is that what you currently have inside Andromeda ? How can you compare the noise levels compared to these screamers that are in there now ? Thanks again and I love your build. Hope to have all 20 bays filled in my Norco soon

Keith

Using the 1600 rpm Scythe fans, Andromeda is just barely audible from 5' away.

Great. Do you use the Slipstreams or do you use Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F. Looks like the Slipstreams put on a little more CFMs but i figured you would know best.

Thanks

I'm using the 1600 rpm version of these. The 2000 rpm version of these also look promising. I will probably buy 3 in the next few weeks to test. I was going to buy them last weekend, but my local Microcenter only had two in stock.
