Hi All,
I am selling and listing my HP-EX40 with upgrades here at MediaSmartServer.net before going over to eBay.

I have a HP-EX40 with New Power supply 330W installed back in March of 2015, Intel Q9550s quad core CPU, 4Gig Mushkin Ram upgrade, Original box and CD's.

I also have 4 WD 2TB HDD Green Drives that were purchased back in March of 2015 with about 30 hours of up/run time.

I'm asking $329 for the Server without the HDD's and asking for $65 for each 2TB HDD.

If interested please PM me.

Thanks for reading.

John

May I ask why you're selling? Seems like you've got a nice server there. I already own 3 ... an EX487, 490 and 495.

Hi, I've upgraded to server 2012 essentials a few years ago and I was going to repurpose the HP Server for something else but then there was a change of plans and now just trying to recoup some of the funds.

Nothing is wrong with the system, I think these are the best for home use. To be honest with you if I did not upgrade to the 2012 essentials I would still be using this server. Actually I should sell the 2012 Essentials server instead.

John

Believe it or not, I'm actually running 2012 Essentials R2 on my EX487, which I upgraded to an E5300 processor and 4GB of RAM. I also upgraded the system disk to an SSD, and then just filled the bays with 2TB disks, including a 2TB disk on the eSATA port. You may be pleasantly surprised, but the EX487 does a bang-up job running 2012 R2. I have no complaints. The two EX490s (one is actually a 495 with an upgraded Q8200S) are running 2012 R2 Standard. Again, no complaints. One might think that these servers, being 5-6 years old, wouldn't handle the latest Microsoft Server operating system very well, but I think it runs very well.

Having an SSD as the system drive is a big plus. :)
