My backup failed because my computer was unable to create a snapshot. I ran chkdsk /f/r. I am running windows 7. Any Suggestions?

Has this computer ever backed up successfully? Make sure that the Volume Shadow Copy Provider service is enabled.

OK. Thanks. After further investigating the problem using Google, I found that others have had the same problem when two extraneous Symantec VSS Provider entries were present in the registry. When I removed the entries it solved the problem (although it broke another program (Ghost), which was fixed by a reinstallation). Apparently extraneous VSS Provider entries in the registry (Symantec or others) can cause this problem.
