Hi

I have a very strange going on re my WHS v1

I have a BT home hub 3 ports are open (80, 443 , 4125) and my windows xp machine will access my server remote console via the HTTPS://servername.homeserver.com
My windows 7 machine has the drives mapped and can get to the shared folders on the server no problem (via wireless) no problem, but will not connect to the remote console
My new windows 8 machine will not connect to the WHS via remote but the windows media player can get to the shared music folder (and video) as the server is showing as another network place. Also if I hardwire the machine to the router everything works fine. Disconnect the Cat 5 and everything works fine including mapped drives. Turn off the PC and restart and I am back to square 1 no access via remote and mapped (server) network drives don't connect again.

I can only assume that something is resetting when I turn off the PC? and / or there is an IP issue?

Any ideas any one please? ... you will also find this question on "wegotserved" where I have failed to get the problem solved :-(

Help appreciated ... many thanks in advance

interestingly I can get remote access by using the Server IP address. This gives me the remote log in page. So it just looks like the server connector just doesn't want to connect via wireless and the PC will not recognise the server as a network drive. This really has got me stumped.

Any ideas, help, suggestions please

Thanks
