MSS EX475 has bee running fine for over a year. I applied the August updates, did a restart, and was confronted with a light blue screen with an error message reading "The Windows Home Server Console experienced a problem with a feature during the previous attempt to open it. If the problem persists, please call Product Support." I fould then either retry (same result ) or ignore. When ignored everything on the MSS and all Console functions appear to be intact. All Add-Ins appear to work fine.

I have restarted the MSS and the (Vista/32) client a couple times since and get the same error message (screenshot below). It also repeats with an XP client.

Anyone experienced this one? Any thoughts?

It's likely an add-in conflict, I'd check the HomeServerConsole*.log files and look for an exception at the same time that you try to open the console. I saw this once the other night, but a retry resolved it.

I think I see the error but do not really understand what it is referring to:

Any insight would be appreciated. I suspect something related to that HealthControl.

FYI, this is basically recreated (with a different log timestamp) for every console start; it is consistent at least! Some of the logs also contain errors relative to my encrypted backup disk -- attempts to access when it had not been mounted by TrueCrypt. And some have many more of the "Error: Cannot invoke RefreshData for HealthControl" messages -- for the times I left the console active for a prolonged period.

I've got the HealthControl messages too, in my normally functioning server. I don't have the other errors mixed in, though. You may want to try uninstalling some add-ins to see if that improves things, or you can log a Connect bug. I'll keep looking too and let you know if I come up with anything else...
