Every time I try to use the HomeServer Console I receive the following error message;

"The Windows Home Server Console cannot open because the following file is blocking it:
HomeServerConsole.Tab.HP.dll.

Do you want to open the Console without this file?"

I can click yes and the console, but I'm not sure if I have diminished capabilities or not.

Any suggestions?

Do you have any add-ins like tab re-order installed?

When you click "YES" It should openbut, you will be missing the MediaSmart tab.

When this happened to me I restarted the MMS and everything came back good.

Yes I have several addin installed. Including that one which I added today. It was doing this before I added that particular addin. I am removing it now though along with a few others.

You might want to try what CBick suggested and reboot your MSS

I've actually rebooted several times with no help resolving the issue. Basically I can't open the console from my machine, and I can only access the server via RDT log in. Once there I can do anything I need too. But I still receive the previous error when opening the console. I am about to remove all add-ins ans see if that fixes the problem.

OK I uninstalled all add-ins and Im still seeing this error. Im confused what I should do next? Any suggestions?

If this is happening on only one client then I would re-install the connector on the machine that has the problem.

EDIT: Have you restarted the client???

It was happening to local and RDT logins. And I ended up doing a recovery install. It took me three tries to get it right, but now no errors. YEA!!

OK it was short lived, upon reboot I get the same error message again!! F'in hell!!

OMG, after calling HP tech support I found out that (by viewing the available addins hidden way donw at the bottom) there is a Media connector update!! D0H!! It seems to be working now. MORE LATER
