Okay. So much for the perfect server restore - see http://www.mediasmartserver.net/forums/ ... php?t=1663 - as now yes the WHS is loaded, but there is the infamous error 500 which if I read the notes @ MS correctly suggests that the IIS has somehow gotten mucked up - but it is vague as all get out as to the why?

Has anyone else gone through this cycle and run into this problem?

The shares are all good - well almost. I have one station that can see the DNS name of the server, just can't resolve it!! Back the the error 500..

The default MSS webpage will load, but the elements create the error 500 message. RDP (RDC) works fine from both the intra-net and the inter-net, you just cannot access (see) the photo page, or the WebShare page, etc..

Thoughts and positive suggestions will all be entertained. And before anyone asks, even after 2 decades I'm still not conversant on web servers - never my bag.
